The Pilar concrete basin seeks to bridge the baroque and colonial architecture with the essence of our history and culture. Like a drop of water in the desert symbolizes hope and renewal, Mexican cathedrals have stood for centuries as symbols of spiritual hope and cultural rebirth. Despite historical challenges and conflicts, these grand structures have endured as centers of faith and artistic expression. The name "Pilar" not only evokes a feminine name but also refers to the architectural pillar, a central and foundational element in great structures, much like the magnificent cathedrals across our country.
This basin is part of the collection "Una gota en la arena". This collection is born from the collaboration between ISAD, Instituto Superior de Arquitectura y Diseño, and Forma&Cemento, blending the geometric minimalism of the brand with the essence of the designers' Mexican roots. Inspired by the arid landscape of northern Mexico, the collection of concrete basins and tiles celebrates water as a precious and scarce resource, in contrast with the desert environment. Through a pure and timeless design, the collection harmonizes culture, history, and nature, reflecting attention to detail and the desire to create long-lasting and meaningful products.
